There is a quiet magic in the places where land and water meet. The soft whisper of tidal waters moving through the salt marsh, the shifting light as dusk settles over the lowcountry, and the ancient live oaks standing as steadfast witnesses—sentinels—of generations and resilience.
In 2020, during a season where the world felt heavy, my family and I set out on a state park journey across North Carolina. Along the way, I had the privilege of standing before the oldest known living longleaf pine tree in the world.
Standing in the shadow of a living sentinel that has weathered centuries of storms, tides, and history gave me a profound sense of perspective. It reminded me that our individual seasons—even the hardest ones—are part of a much larger, beautiful timeline.
That encounter planted a seed that has finally taken root in my newest collection: Saltwater & Sentinels.
This collection is an exploration of connection, light, and the enduring resilience of our coastlines. Painted with energetic brushwork, rich texture, and a vibrant, saturated palette, each piece captures the quiet whispers of coastal marshes and luminous, light-drenched landscapes. My paintings are created to bring that sense of warmth, serenity, and resilience directly into your home. My hope is that our individual stories merge with a profound sense of place and shared affinity for the landscapes we love.
