Katie Wall Podracky is an American Impressionist painter known for her vibrant, colorful landscapes created in her Greensboro, North Carolina studio. Featured in Our State Magazine in 2022, Katie’s work is playful, joyful, and deeply rooted in over 25 years of exploring color, brushwork, and the pure delight of moving paint across canvas.

A native of Asheboro, North Carolina, Katie began her artistic journey at Washington and Lee University, earning a degree in art and biology. She further refined her craft as a graduate fellow at Savannah College of Art and Design and later earned a master’s degree in teaching from UNC Pembroke, before sharing her love of art with students in public schools.

Katie’s paintings are inspired by her deep connection to nature and her family adventures. In 2020, she and her family visited every North Carolina State Park, capturing the spirit of each place in a series of paintings—a bright light during a challenging year. Today, Katie is experimenting with handmade paints crafted from the rich red clay soils of her childhood home, creating a new collection of landscapes that continue to celebrate place and memory.

Her work is collected across the United States and included in the permanent collections of four universities, as well as numerous corporations and hotels.
